Free Care Harbor Clinic Opened Thursday

Care Harbor Clinic--a new free clinic--opened Thursday to provide care to those who can't afford it.

Care Harbor's new free clinic opened its doors Thursday to the thousands of waiting patients, some whom had been in line since Monday.

The new clinic is expected to provide free medical, dental and vision care for as many as 4,800 uninsured people between Thursday and Sunday.

Care Harbor teamed up with L.A. Care and other sponsors to help expand the free clinic. Care Harbor added more facilities and as a result, doctors plan to see one thousand more patients than they have in the past. Medical services offered at the clinic will include immunizations, women's health screenings, acupuncture and chiropractic care, dental cleanings, fillings, extractions and eye exams.

Those who visit the clinic and discover they have a more serious condition will continue to have access to more services, as they will be referred to one of sixty other free clinics in the L.A. area.
