Lindsay Lohan Arrested in New York

Lohan's arrest may put her at risk for violating her probation.

Actress Lindsay Lohan was arrested early Wednesday morning in New York after an alleged hit-and-run accident, according to New York City police.

The 26-year-old Lohan was parking her Porsche Cayenne in lower Manhattan's meatpacking district around 1 a.m. when she struck a pedestrian.  The male victim who is in his mid 30s, according to NYPD, was taken to Bellevue Hospital for a knee injury.

After the accident, Lohan entered a nearby club with friends.  When she exited the club two hours later, police arrested her at the scene and took her to New York's 10th Precinct where she was issued a desk appearance ticket for allegedly leaving the scene of an accident, a misdemeanor.

Despite some claims the actress smelled of alcohol and was "slurring her words," officials report that there was no alcohol involved in the incident.

Lohan told friends this morning that she didn't know she had hit someone, according to celebrity website TMZ.com.  She reportedly feels as if this is a set up.

The troubled star is currently on unsupervised probation until May 2014 due to her no contest plea for a grand theft misdemeanor.  The actress was charged with stealing a necklace from a Venice jewelry store in January 2011.

In accordance with her probation, Judge Stephanie Sautner told Lohan that if she broke any laws during her probation she could face up to 245 days in jail.
