Thousands Attend Campus Career Fair

More than 400 organizations came to the fair looking to recruit students for jobs and internships.

Thousands of students gathered on campus Thursday for USC's annual career fair.

Each year, more than 400 organizations seeking new employees come to the fair to recruit students for both jobs and internships.

“The job market has been improving each and every year,” said Carl Martellino, Executive Diector of the Career Center. “The internship has really become the new interview and many employers will hire students from their intern pool.”

Martellino said that typically most of the attendees are seniors, but an increasing number of sophomore and juniors have been coming in recent years in search of internships.

Malek Khuluhi, a junior majoring in business administration, believes the career fair is an excellent resource for finding work during the school year.

“It's good to get my name out there, get my resumes out there and get in contact with people so I can set myself up for spring,” he said.

Students who could not attend can log onto USC’s job database, “connectSC,” to search for opportunities.
