Fire Destroys Home In Brentwood

An elderly man suffered from minor smoke inhalation. The status of his residence unknown.

A fire destroyed one house and damaged another in Brentwood Monday, according to officials.

Firefighters arrived to a burning home on Chickory Lane at 11:41 a.m., reported sources. They deployed "exposure protection" on a nearby home to prevent further fire damage.

A 90-year-old man suffered from minor smoke inhalation and was taken to a hospital, according to fire officials. Firefighters have not determined if he lived in any of the affected homes.

About 95 firefighters and a several a heliopters responded to area west of the Getty Museum.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
