Councilman Hosts Winter Wonderland in Elysian Park

Children gathered in Elysian Park to celebrate a Winter Wonderland.

Tuesday marked the 12th Annual Winter Wonderland in Elysian Park. More than 400 children for 12 different schools gathered to take photos with Santa Claus and receive wrapped gifts from Councilman Ed Reyes.

"It reinforces a memory I had as a kid when someone came around the holidays," said Reyes. "When we were having tough times in my family, I came from a family of 7 siblings, I remember those hard times. And when you get a gift from someone, its something you cherish"

"I like toys," said David, a five-year-old boy at the event.

Reyes has been hosting the event since 2001. This will be the last event for the term-limited councilman.
