Heisman Finalists Announced
The winner will be announced at an award ceremony in New York City on Saturday, Dec. 8.
Wins for any of the three players would mean historic firsts for their respective football programs.
If Manziel--the frontrunner--takes the trophy, he would be the very first freshman to do so. He would also be the first Texas A&M winner in over half a century; the university has had a dry spell since halfback John David Crow got the honor in 1957.
A win from Te'o would make him the first defense-only Heisman recipient. Notre Dame has had seven winners, and if Te'o brought it to eight, they would hold the record for most Heismans from a single university.
Kansas State has never had a Heisman winner and is hoping Klein will be their first.
Manziel, Te'o and Klein were able to edge out other Heisman hopefuls for the invitation to New York. USC Wide reciever Marquise Lee, Ohio State quarterback Braxton Miller and Stanford running back Stepfan Taylor were among the contenders that missed the cut.
