Meet the Signees: Steven Mitchell
With USC WR Robert Woods declaring for the NFL draft, the Trojans look to recruit top talent to compete for the open starting position next year. Steven Mitchell is a versatile player that could easily play multiple positions on both sides of the ball. This four star recruit from Bishop Alemany High School was yet another highly sought out recruit that USC managed to grab. Mitchell was given offers from over 20 schools including Oregon and UCLA. Although small in size Mitchell has great body control, route-running skills, hands and concentration. He runs a 40-yard dash in 4.55, and can change direction in a route without losing speed.
He is a great student-athlete whose charm and athleticism captured him as the eighth best wide receiver in his class, and is ranked No. 63 on the Rivals.com Top 100 list. His speed and ability is sure to compliment current Trojan WR Marqise Lee and Nelson Agholor. He is a dynamic player in the open field whose talent will allow him to make plays when given the opportunity.
