And the winner is: Christian Kurth and Ryan Park.

The highlight of Tuesday night's senate meeting was the announcement of the anticipated USG Election results. Kurth-Park received 52.1% of the votes over the Matt Arkfeld-Alex Cascante duo (who won 44.5%). Several students came in to support both sets of candidates.

Before supporters arrived, USG had to review a few other items on the agenda.

There was a heated debate between the Senate and the President of the Bread and Baking Club, Dan Morgan-Russell. Morgan-Russell tried to convince USG to fully fund his requested amount. The Senate believed a meager amount to buy mixing bowls and spoons could potentially help begin to develop the club. Although the majority loved the idea of students learning to make fresh baked bread for free, the Senate voted to not fund the club. Morgan-Russell was advised to try again next year and to consider establishing a membership fee. The Senate believed that providing funding would not be fair to other clubs on their limited budget and that The Bread and Baking Club needs to try searching for other resources first.

The Senate also awarded the full amount to the Alumni Affairs committee. The Senate recognized that several students are anticipating upcoming event featuring USC hero, Louis Zamperini, or "The Great Zamperini." USG also appreciated the support from several campus organizations, like the Trojan Knights. USG will also be making a profit from the event.

A representative from the Veterans Association introduced a new resolution that asks for space to build a "Veterans Resource Center." The representative reminded the Senate that the university prides itself on Veteran support, and that the center will be a step to further help the Veteran students in need.
