Free Parking During Spring Break

The deadline to sign up for free parking is midnight on Wednesday.

If your spring break plans involve travel - and leaving your car near campus - USC's Division of Public Safety wants you to keep your car safe in university parking lots.

DPS is collaborating with USC Transportation to offer free parking in the UPC Parking Center and the HSC Biggy Parking Structure for faculty, staff, and students.

The free parking, which is offered through a program called Operation GIFT, will be available between Thursday, March 14 after midnight and Monday, March 25 before noon.

Students can register for parking passes online until midnight on Wednesday, March 13.

DPS reported that Operation GIFT has reduced auto-related crimes by more than 65 percent since 2005.

DPS warns that the free parking will only be available during designated the time period mention above.
Those who desire to park their vehicle earlier or later than GIFT Parking dates must pay the daily parking rate of $7 per day at the UPC Parking Center and $10 per day at the HSC Biggy Structure.

DPS also released safety tips for those remaining on-campus during the upcoming spring break. DPS advised using electronic times for lights and electronics to make one's home appear inhabited, keeping doors closed and locked, and avoiding placing valuable property in plain view inside one's vehicle.
