USC Pro Day Preview 2013

Seven USC Trojans will show off their potential NFL skills during Wednesday's Pro Day.

It was a shaky 2012 season for the USC Football squad, but with Pro Day kicking off Wednesday for the Trojans, the graduating seniors will have one last shot to prove that they are NFL worthy.

The day will kick off inside the John McKay center, where the NFL prospects will be inspected and measured by weight, height, arm length, hand width and flexibility. The players will then move on to the standing long jump and vertical jump, and round out their time in the McKay center by benching 225 pounds.

The prospects will then enter phase two at the Loker Track Stadium, running the 40 meter dash and showing off their agility in tests like the three-cone drill. Closing out the day, the athletes will be tested individually. At this time, Matt Barkley is expected to throw for the first time publicly since he injured his shoulder during this seasons crosstown showdown against UCLA.

Almost all of the other big name quarterback prospects have already shown off their throwing ability to scouts, so USC Pro Day will allow Barkley to prove he is worthy of a first-round pick. Barkley seems to have fully recovered from his AC joint injury, but the biggest concerns about No. 7 surround his arm strength. He'll also need to prove his foot quickness by showing his ability to move within the pocket.

Barkley will be throwing to one of his favorite targets on Wednesday: Robert Woods. Woods also has something to prove, as he will try to show teams that he not only has great hands, but also has great feet. One concern surrounding the wide receiver is that he might not be explosive enough, he should be highlighting his quick speed tomorrow.

Joining Barkley and Woods at Pro Day on Wednesday will be Khaled Holmes (center), T.J. McDonald (safety), Nickell Robey (corner back), Jawanza Starling (safety) and Wes Horton (defensive end).
