Community Plan Aims to Revamp L.A.
Fast food restaraunts can be found in virtually every community. But some people in West Adams, Baldwin Hills and Leimert Park say there are more than enough of these businesses in their community.
In an effort to provide healthier options, the L.A. City Council placed a restriction on new stand-alone fast food restaurants in the area four years ago.
Now there's a push to lift the ban.
Community members and health experts say this is a step bakward for south L.A.
"I am not against fast food by any means. We just have an oversaturation of those. And I love burgers. I also love salads," said Marie Bryant, a Park Mesa Heights resident.
