Agencies Teach Homeowners How to Avoid Foreclosure

NOW Alliance & the Federal "Making Homes Affordable" offered homeowners free advice on how to stay in their homes.

Cash-strapped homeowners headed out to a free event hoping to lower their risk of foreclosure. The group Home Now Alliance and the federal Making Homes Affordable program sponsored an event to educate residents on mortgage and refinance options at the L.A. Convention Center Tuesday.

The Keep Your Home, California Agency was on hand to offer mortgage assistance as well as financial help from nonprofit housing counselors.

Event organizers said this event is a way for homeowners to explore all of the options available for adjusting their mortgage and staying in their home.
