Bikers Benefit From Road Improvements

Sharrows - or shared arrows - are among the features that will make area cyclists safer, officials said Thursday.

Los Angeles bikers could soon ride more safely on city streets thanks to new road improvements.

Councilmen Tom LaBonge and Mitch O'Farrell touted improvements to Yucca Street Tuesday.

Road improvements include new street signs and clear lane markings, along with "sharrows" - shared arrows for city cyclists.

The improvements come on the heels of a new state law that requires three feet of space between drivers and bikers.
