Suspect Arrested in Connection to Sherman Oaks Fire
The Los Angeles Police Department arrested a suspect on Thursday in connection to setting more than six fires in Sherman Oaks.
The fire began around 8:40 p.m. Wednesday night along Ventura Boulevard and Woodman Avenue. LAPD officials said the person of interest lit six trash cans on fire, which quickly spread.
The suspect is a man in his 50s who was taken into custody near the intersection of Katherine Avenue and Moorpark Street just after midnight on Thursday.
The largest fire started at a Sherman Oaks strip mall and spread to a two-story apartment building. No one was injured.
