Community Continues to Mourn Death of USC Student

Many students and teachers acknowledged Thu Yain "Roy" Kyaw's giving nature.

USC students continue to mourn the death of USC Marshall student, Thu Yain "Roy" Kyaw.

USC Department of Public Safety officers found Kyaw's body in his room at 1314 29th Street on Sunday night.

The coroner's office is still investigating Kyaw's death, and many students continue to wonder what happened.

Friends, students, and teachers agree that Kyaw wanted to make a positive impact on the lives of others.

"There are a lot of students that want to make it and that's great, but he wanted to make it and make a difference," Kyaw's professor, Steven Lamy said.

"Anything that he gained he didn't want to keep for himself. He wanted to give it all back," said Kyaw's friend and fraternity brother, Daniel Yang.

A memorial service will be held for Kyaw next Monday at the Ronald Tutor Campus Center.
