Jackson Fans Disagree With Verdict
Aside from lawyers, Jackson family members and AEG executives, there's one group that followed the court proceedings of the last five months with exceptional scrutiny: Michael Jackson's legions of fans in Los Angeles and around the globe.
For these devotees to the gloved one, Wednesday's verdict came as a harsh blow. Many disagreed with the jurors' reading of the case, and others openly disparaged Jackson's concert promoter AEG Live.
AEG has long contended that it did not hire Jackson's personal physician Dr. Conrad Murray, insisting instead that the company wouldn't have gone forward with the concerts if it knew the singer was using a surgical anesthetic as a sleep aid.
A Los Angeles jury did determine that AEG hired Murray, but it also found the physician to not be incompetent -- effectively absolving AEG of its liability for Jackson's 2009 death.
Outside the courthouse Wednesday, fans expressed their initial reaction to the verdict.
The injustice needs to stop! NOW!!
