Lead Poisoning Demonstration in Los Angeles

Medical experts, parents and children gathered Monday in the Exposition Park neighborhood to kick off National Lead Poisoning Prevention Week.

Experts discussed lead poisoning prevention and detection techniques for parents and children through demonstrations.

Dr. Cyrus Rangan, a pediatrician and medical toxicologist at the event, urged people with houses built before 1975 to have them inspected.

He also said that the biggest culprit of lead poisoning is paint and that its the number one environmental issue for children.
