Undocumented immigrants will soon be allowed to drive legally in California.

Gov. Jerry Brown signed the bill into law Thursday at LA City Hall.

Mayor Eric Garcetti was at the signing ceremony, which drew supporters and critics alike.

After the signing in LA, Gov. Brown will hold another ceremonial signing at Fresno City College at 12:30 p.m.

The bill is expected to go into effect on or before January 1, 2015.
