Metro Invites Partnerships For Crenshaw/LAX Line

The Crewnshaw/LAX transit project will create eight new stations across Los Angeles.

Mayor Eric Garcetti met with Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx in Washington, D.C. on Monday to discuss ways to improve transit to the Los Angeles International Airport.

Mayor Garcetti believes the transit system could be finished in six years, if approved.

The plan is to have a Crenshaw Line that connects the Expo and Green rail lines that will run near LAX.

Metro held a Crenshaw/LAX Business Opportunities Summit on Monday, inviting business owners and community members to partner with Metro on the project.

Coach Ron said he hopes former inmates will benefit from the potential employment opportunities.

Danny Bakewell, an organizer for the summit, hoped the jobs provided by the expansion project will benefit the African-American community.

The Green Line currently stops 2.5 miles away from the airport.
