USC professor Arieh Warshel is one of three men to win the 2013 Nobel Prize in Chemistry Wednesday. The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences awarded Warshel and the other scientists after developing computer models of complex chemical interactions. All three nobel prize recipients will share a $1.2 million reward.

Martin Karplus of the Universite de Strasbourg in France and Harvard University and Michael Levitt of Stanford University worked alongside Warshel to develop a model that showed large-scale movements of atoms in a molecule.

Warshel has taught at USC for nearly four decades.
