405 Freeway Ramp Reopens
After nearly four months of construction, the Wilshire Boulevard on-ramp to the San Diego (405) Freeway opened Thursday morning.
The 3,129-foot-long ramp is expected to accommodate twice as many cars.
Other ramps at the Wilshire Boulevard-405 Freeway interchange were lenghthened to ease congestion.
The reconstruction of the on-ramp replaces a single-lane onramp that would slow traffic down.
The new ramp is part of a $1-billion project that seeks to reconfigure 10 miles of the 405 Freeway. The project is expected to be completed in less than a year, according to county Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky.
