Travelers' Flights Impacted by Shooting at LAX

LAX travelers waited for hours as officials investigated the airport after Friday morning's shooting.

Los Angeles International Airport travelers were forced to park at a nearby gas station while the streets surrounding LAX were closed off. Many had to wait for hours as officials investigated the airport after a shooting at 9:30 a.m.

The FBI has identified the shooter as 23-year-old Paul Anthony Ciancia. The shooting happened at Terminal 3, where airlines such as Jet Blue and Virgin America are located.   

According to the Los Angeles World Airports, 746 flights were affected.

Jet Blue, Virgin America, Frontier and Allegiant Airlines have cancelled all flights to or from LAX for the rest of the day.
