Tribune Company to Cut Almost 700 Jobs

Tribune Co. announces it will restructure and cut close to 700 jobs.

Chicago-based Tribune Company announced Wednesday that it will cut almost 700 jobs in the next year.

Tribune Co. is the parent company of multiple daily newspapers, including the Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, Orlando Sentinel and the Baltimore Sun.

The majority of this six percent staff reduction will involve newspaper operations personnel, not reporters or editors.

The changes were made to help Tribune endure a continuing decline in print advertising.
