Glendale Residents File Lawsuit Against City

Residents and business owners are suing the city for misappropriating funds.

The Glendale Coalition for Better Government (GCBG), a non-profit organization of residents and business owners, announced Wednesday that it is filing a lawsuit against the city of Glendale for transferring funds without voter consent.

This lawsuit claims that 90 million dollars budgeted for water and electic utilities were used for other purposes without a vote from Glendale residents, which is in violation of the California State Constitution.

ATVN reached out to the city of Glendale and is awaiting a response.

The GCBG also said the city was wrong in using Glendale Water and Power funds to compensate for the city's budgetary shortfalls. This has led water rates to double in past two years and public safety to falter, according to Frank Gallo, president of the GCBG.

COMMENTS

Corruption happens with people from the right and left. Blaming it on liberals is short sided. In my city, the council was mostly Republicans who were running the city and doing stuff like Glendale. We think they learn it from the California Leage of Cities or the law firm BB&K.

And now despite this illegal transfer, and money from corrupt state and federal politicians they still want more taxes with a ballot proposal to increase taxes this June.
Wake up Glendale, its time to throw these city rulers out of office and install competent, economically aware leaders, not tax and spend liberals.
Thank you I am quite capable of spending my own money rather than the city spending my money on idiotic things like a 'parkette' on Brand Bl.
