Halloween Shooting Suspect Found Guilty

Brandon Spencer was convicted of four counts of attempted murder.

A Los Angeles jury on Monday convicted Brandon Spencer of four counts of attempted murder for the Oct. 31, 2012 shooting on USC's campus.

The jury deliberated for less than three hours to convict 21-year-old Spencer, an Inglewood native.

The conviction closes the book on the Halloween incident, when gunfire erupted outside a party sponsored by the Black Student Assembly. Several hundred attended the party, which took place in the Ronald Tutor Campus Center. A crowd of more than 100 gathered outside the party, where the shooting took place.

Of the four people injured in the incident, one was Geno Hall, a former standout football player at Crenshaw High School.

The shooting was motivated by a gang rivalry, according to prosecutors.
