Los Angeles' Newest Traffic Nightmare

Remember Carmageddon? Prepare yourselves for a new traffic nightmare, "Jamzilla."

Local officials said to avoid Interstate 405 in West Los Angeles from President's Day Weekend through the Tuesday morning after because of a series of closures.

The potential traffic jams have been nicknamed,"Jamzilla."

The closures are needed for a repaving project that will add a carpool lane to both sides of the freeway.

The closures will run from Friday night at 7 p.m. through 6 a.m. Tuesday. It will cover nearly six miles of the northbound lanes of the 405 from Getty Center Drive to the 101 Freeway.

Although two lanes will stay open during the day, all lanes will be closed overnight.

To stay updated, drivers may visit the I-405 Project's Twitter and Facebook page.
