USC Football Signs Two 5-Star Recruits

Five-star offensive guard Damien Mama and five-star John "Juju" Smith have officially sent in their letters of intent to USC.

Five-star offensive guard Damien Mama was just one of the many high school hopefuls to send their letter of intent to USC. Mama was a top prospect from St. John Bosco and picked USC over Alabama and BYU.

Mama comes in at 6'4, 370-pounds and is considered a versatile player. He will be a valuable asset to the Trojans strong offensive line.

Mama committed to USC in the early morning of National Signing Day, and traveled to Long Beach Poly High School to support his friend John "Juju" Smith.

Smith is a five-star recruit from Long Beach who eventually joined Mama and signed to USC. Smith picked the Trojans over Oregon, Notre Dame and UCLA. The 6'1, 200-pound multi-positional player's decision to play at USC surprised his friends and family.

"On Sunday, Monday, I told everyone I wanted to go to Oregon. I mean that was the school I wanted to go to at first. I was all in," said Smith. "But then I had second thoughts, not just thinking of me, but the people who put in on this, which is my family...so it made me stay home."

Both Smith and Mama said staying close to home played a huge factor in choosing colleges.
