LAPD Testing Out Body Cameras
The Los Angeles Police Department is in the midst of a 90-day trial-run of body cameras designed to record interactions between officers and civilians.
The cameras provide a view from the police officers' perspective.
The recorded interactions will provide accountability for both the officer and the people they interact with, according to Sgt. Dan Gomez. They're also being used by police departments across the country.
The trial will end in mid-April. After that, there will be another 90-day trial-run to test cameras from a different vendor.
