Mudslide Aftermath
Authorities are still searching for possible unaccounted victims of a mudslide that took at least fourteen lives in a small neighborhood in Washington State. Although signs of possible survivors were detected beneath the rubble on Saturday evening, rescue teams were unable to retrieve any victims due to the thickness of the mud.
At least one hundred people remain unaccounted for, according to authorities. Concerns have mounted that more deaths will be uncovered in the coming days. The disaster has forced evacuations from the area due to the potential threat of flooding, halting rescue efforts and searches through the debris and rubble.
