Students Stand Up for Diversity

STAND invited students to post anonymous notes at Tommy Trojan about diversity.

Students gathered at Tommy Trojan today in order to spread awareness about social injustices. The event was organized by the campus organization STAND (Students Taking Action in the Name of Diversity). Cardboard walls were placed at Tommy Trojan, where STAND invited students to post anonymous notes or letters sharing their thoughts about diversity on campus.

The carboard walls were decorated with phrases such as, "What have you been through?" and asked students to share their stories regarding race, gender, ehtnicity, sexuality, spirituality, ability, class and age, as well as other characteristics related to diversity. STAND's aim in sponsoring the event was to show students that they are not alone in their struggles and that others in the USC community share their experiences.
