Take Back the Week
This week, USC is holding Take Back the Night, a weeklong event which aims to spread awareness about sexual violence and provide a safe space for survivors to share their experiences.
Take Back the Night is presented by the Women's Assembly in partnership with the Center for Women and Men.
The first activity of the week included the hanging of t-shirts in the school's quad to illuminate the stories of victims of sexual assault.
Several rows of shirts were decorated with powerful phrases scrawled across the fabric, condemning rape and other forms of sexual violence.
The first official event of Take Back the Week, called Night of Artivism, will take place at Ground Zero, a campus cafe. The idea of artivism entails the practice of vigorous action or involvement as a means of achieving goals through art. Students will be given the opportunity to share stories of surival through an open mic.
