Green Cities Top Clinton's Agenda During LA Visit
President Clinton and his Clinton Global Initiative arrived in Los Angeles on Thursday to discuss his green public infrastructure for American cities.
"We are in a period where even the people who are semi-climate change deniers understand that we need to mitigate extreme changes in weather," said Clinton, joined onstage by LA Mayor Eric Garcetti.
Clinton, who served two terms in the Oval Office, tied gaping potholes with clean energy initiatives, and asserted that solving urban issues and creating sustainable jobs weren't mutually exclusive.
Apparently taken by Clinton's legacy and forward-thinking ideas, Garcetti complimented the boldness (and necessity) of the former president's vision.
"Infrastructure is no longer about infrastructure - it's about life itself," Garcetti said.
Thursday's visit marked the fifth trip to an American city by the Clinton Global Initiative's bid to improve public infrastructure.
