NBA Bans Clippers Owner Donald Sterling for Life
The NBA concluded their investigation Tuesday into racially insensitive comments heard on an audio recording released Saturday.
Adam Silver, the NBA commissioner, confirmed it was Clippers owner Donald Sterling's voice on the recordings. Silver denounced Sterling's remarks as both "offensive" and "harmful."
Sterling will be fined the maximum amount of $2.5 million. Silver also announced Sterling will be banned from associating with the NBA for life.
"This league is far bigger than any one coach or one owner," Silver stated on the topic of Clippers future.
"I have complete confidence in them."
Silver is now encouraging the sale of the Clippers team.
