Ground Broken for New Kaufman School of Dance
Ground broke on the home of USC's newest school on Wednesday: the Glorya Kaufman International Dance Center.
The three-story building will be the home of the Kaufman School of Dance, named after prominent philanthropist Glorya Kaufman -- whose mission is to make the school a premier site for dance.
"It's going to be known all over -- it's going to be something that many many schools copy, and rightfully so," Kaufman said Wednesday. "And I can't tell you how happy I am."
The new dean of the school is Dr. Robert Cutietta, while the vice dean and director is Jodie Gates. Both joined Kaufman and USC Pres. Max Nikias for the groundbreaking.
What advice would you give to a high school sophomore from Moreno Valley who is interested in a career in Dance. What classes should she be taking in school? Will USC have summer camps available to high school students? If so, how can they get involved?
