L.A. Riots Commemorated Across The City
Twenty two years ago today, riots sparked by the police beating of Rodney King shook the city of Los Angeles.
The clashes lasted six days following the acquittal of the four LAPD officers involved in the incident.
Los Angeles residents came together Tuesday to commemorate the anniversary at different events across the city, including Chinatown and Westlake.
Residents also used the important date to increase awareness for causes like Thursday's May Day international workers' rally, high school graduation rates and poverty.
