NBA Reacts To Sanctions For Clippers Owner Donald Sterling

NBA players and coaches spoke out on the sanctions put on Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling.

NBA players and coaches spoke out on the sanctions put on Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling.

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver announced today that Sterling is banned for life from the Clippers organization, and will be issued a $2.5 million fine, which is the maximum allowed under the NBA constitution.

The Clippers released a statement following the sanctions in support of Silver's decision.

"We wholeheartedly support and embrace the decision by the NBA and Commissioner Adam Silver today. Now the healing process begins."

Some current and former athletes took to twitter to show their support. Lakers legend Magic Johnson was especially pleased with the sanctions placed on Sterling.

"Commissionaire Silver showed great leadership in banning LA Clippers owner Donald Sterling for life," tweeted Johnson. "Current and former players now know that in Commissionaire Adam Silver we have a great leader leading our league."

Lakers super star kept his tweet of support minimal.

"Bravo Silver," tweeted Bryant.
