Changes Coming to ATVN this Fall
With classes set to begin Aug. 25, the final touches are being put in place for Annenberg TV News (ATVN) to begin its first run in the new Media Center inside Wallis Annenberg Hall.
ATVN will continue to broadcast Monday through Thursday at 6 p.m. on Trojan Vision, channel 8.1, but the show will see some changes.
New this year is "The Buzz," a daily web and broadcast segment that aims to find and present the highest trending topics within the USC community. This segment will offer more producing, shooting and editing opportunities for Annenberg students and volunteers.
For students looking to go into entertainment reporting, ATVN now offers the position of entertainment reporter. The reporter will give the nightly newscast an in-depth package regarding something in the industry with the entertainment capital of the world as the playing field.
"The Tease" will continue to give ATVN's social media followers a look at what they can expect to see on the newscast and on atvn.org that day.
Students will also be able to submit their work for the opportunity to have it featured in the newscast and potential visits to the set to talk about their work. We will have more details on how to do that later.
Powered by the technological advances ushering in a new era for ATVN, our team of more than 250 multimedia journalists, reporters, producers and anchors looks forward to yet another semester covering the issues that matter to USC the most—this time, in a new home. The first show airs Sept. 22 at 6 p.m. on Trojan Vision. For more information on how to join ATVN, click here.
