Kids in Los Angeles Learn How to Heal the Bay

Kids from the Los Angeles area spent the day in the sand learning about the health of our beaches.

"Heal the Bay" held their Coastal Cleanup Education Day on Wednesday, September 17.

Approximately 700 kids from the Los Angeles area worked to clean up the Santa Monica beach while learning about native marine life.

The children picked up trash on the beach, dug by the water to search for crabs and worms, played different games to better understand how marine debris affects animals and visited the Santa Monica Pier Aquarium.

"Heal they Bay" is an environmental non-profit organization based in Santa Monica. Since 1985, the organization has been worked to improve water quality and protect marine life.
