Hearse Driver Claims Harassment at The Lorenzo
A resident at The Lorenzo is claiming management has harassed her for parking a hearse on the premises.
Samantha Kidner, an 18-year-old disabled student who hopes to study mortuary science, paid for two handicapped spots on the apartment complex's property. Residents have complained that walking by the hearse is "creepy." She says management has asked her to park at the Orthopaedic Institute for Children instead.
On Sunday, Kidner held a "hearse-in" for six hours, where she protested about the treatment. A Facebook event called "Hearse in" was also created for the event.
"They [The Lorenzo Management] don't like the message it sends to their uppity tenants," read the Facebook description. "Come on out to L.A. for the biggest and best HEARSE-IN!!"
"We pay a lot of money to live here," said Chad Tepper, Lorenzo resident, "and she needs to be able to feel comfortable where she lives. But [the hearse] shouldn't be right in the front. Put it by like an elevator or something."
She says she plans to host her next "hearse-in" in October until her parking is resolved.
