USC Hosts Domestic Violence Summit
The Good Shepherd Shelter of Los Angeles and USC’s School of Social Work teamed up to host the “Make This Moment Count: Summit on Domestic Violence” Tuesday afternoon at the USC University Club.
The event discussed how communities can respond to domestic violence. Its panels included, “The Faces of Domestic Violence,” in which women told their survival stories; “Best Practices in Domestic Violence,” a Q&A session with leading social workers and mental health workers in domestic violence; and “Continuing the Conversation,” a discussion with media, academics and community leaders about policies that need to be implemented in order to curb domestic violence.
Participants included Dean Marilyn Flynn of the School of Social Work and Executive Director Sherisa Dahlegren of the Good Shepherd Shelter.
The Good Shepherd Shelter aims to put an end to the cycle of domestic violence by providing individualized services and shelter to women and their children, as well as raising the level of community education and awareness.
True change in the world mean an end to the bigoted, reverse-sexist, female supremacist fascism that is feminism. Domestic violence is a vile crime that knows no sex ('gender') but which is now used to scapegoat males as monsters and women as victims...by the world's largest and most officially coddled hate movement. USC's sociologists need to start telling the truth and nothing but the truth about domestic violence so that male survivors of female perps have somewhere to go, so that loathsome laws like VAWomanA are repealed as soon as possible, and so that the fascist (feminist) bullies who currently rape DV research are tossed out of academe for good.
