West Hollywood Halloween Carnaval Preparations

Over half a million people are expected to fill the streets of West Hollywood on Saturday night for the Halloween Carnaval and preparations are already underway.

The city of West Hollywood is preparing for its annual Halloween Carnaval this Friday. According to organizers, the Halloween party, the biggest in the world, is expected to host approximately 500,000 guests.

Sean Christopher, a server at The Abbey, one of West Hollywood's most popular bars, said that lines spilling out the door and down Melrose blvd. are just one of many common sights at Carnaval.

Though Wet Hollywood is known to have a large LGBT popullation, the festival is not just for the LGBT community, says Larry Block. Block is the organizer of the West Hollywood block party and candidate for the 2015 West Hollywood City Council race.

The Carnaval is scheduled to begin on Friday at 6 p.m and will end at 11 p.m.

If you are thinking of heading to the Carnaval don't expect to get there without traffic or find parking. Roads between Santa Monica Blvd. up to Doheney and La Cienega will be closed during the event.

Despite public parking being made available in West Hollywood vacant lots, Christopher strongly recommended the use of Uber. He told us that free parking spaces are scarce and that once the party began, they would be "literally impossible" to find.
