With the recent news of the proposed UC tuition hikes, some people are weighing the costs and benefits of getting a college education.

According to Pew Research, college graduates do in fact earn more than those who do not attend college.

Richard Fry, Senior Economist at the Pew Research Center, tells ATVN that he thinks college still makes economic sense.

"I would send my kids to college," says Christine Bondurant, "because even though it costs more, you end up making more money in the end."

Some USC students told ATVN they don't believe that a college education is absolutely necessary for success.

"I believe that sending your kids to college is very important. The only exception I have is that everyone has a different plan and I don't think everyone needs it to be successful. So it just depends," says Barbara Estrada.
