Distractions Surround No. 19 USC vs. No. 9 UCLA

The Trojans try to focus on the Bruins despite many outside influences.

The USC football team (7-3, 6-2) have plenty of off-field news surround the program heading into a pivotal rivalry matchup with No. 9 UCLA Saturday. With redshirt senior cornerback Josh Shaw reinstated to the team Tuesday after serving a 10-game suspension while investigations surrounding an incident of how he sprianed his ankles in late-August, head coach Steve Sarkisian discussed Shaw's chance of seeing the field.

Focused on the game, members of the Trojan defense spoke about shutting down the versatile Bruin offense and the dual-threat quarterback in Brett Hundley.

Redshirt junior running back Javorius "Buck" Allen also made national news Wednesday, being named a semifinalist for the Doak Walker Award for the top running back in the nation. Allen has tallied 1,184 rushing yards this season and posted eight 100-yd performances.

The Trojans and Bruins will kickoff at the Rose Bowl Saturday at 5:00 p.m. For full live updates, including play-by-play information and exclusive photos, follow @ATVNSports on Twitter.
