Former University of Iowa defensive lineman and current PAC-12 Networks' football analyst Anthony Herron discussed the play of redshirt juniors Javorius "Buck" Allen and Cody Kessler, who received notice Monday that they were candidates for national honors this season. Herron credited the offensive style of head coach Steve Sarkisian for putting his star-studded offensive threats in positions to succeed.
The five-year NFL player also looked forward to the Trojans Thursday night matchup against the California Golden Bears and explained what makes them a viable threat to ruin USC's family weekend showing. Herron mentioned that the USC defense will need to play a prominent role if the Trojans are to overcome strong-armed quarterback Jared Goff and the Golden Bears.
