Steve Sarkisian: "We're Not Dead"
The No. 19 USC football team (7-4, 6-3) closed out its PAC-12 conference schedule with a 38-20 loss to No. 9 UCLA at the Rose Bowl Saturday night behind a four touchdown performance by Bruin quarterback Brett Hundley. After the game, head coach Steve Sarkisian talked about what went wrong for the Cardinal and Gold in the crosstown rivalry matchup and how the team will show its true colors in the way it plays in next week's clash with Notre Dame.
Sarkisian discussed that he felt the Trojans showed glimpses of excellent play at times, but were out played overall. He credits UCLA's ability to perform at the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball as the main difficulty that USC faced and were unable to withstand. Sarkisian broke down his decision to go for it on a fourth down and two from the UCLA five yard line that was stopped for no gain, stating that the team's philospohy all year is that they are agressive and he fully stands behind the decision.
USC will be back in action against Notre Dame at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum Saturday in its regular season finale with kickoff slated for 12:30 p.m.
