Southern California Ports Close Temporarily

Port shut downs may lead to retailers and consumers paying more for goods. Jessica Harrington reports.

All of the West Coast ports were partially shut down Thursday, including the Los Angeles and Long Beach ports.

The Pacific Maritime Association called for the partial shut down during the presidental holidays and weekend. Negotiations between PMA and International Longshore and Warehouse Union continued Thursday to avoid future shutdowns.

Experts say consumers and retailers are the ones who will eventually be hurt by the shut downs.
