LAPD Makes Progress In Identifying Sexual Assault Suspect

There are new developments in the search for the suspect responsible for a number of sexual battery cases near USC. ATVN's Priscilla Casper reports with more on the investigation.

USC's Department of Public Saftey says the Los Angeles Police Department has a person of interest and are working to see if that person is linked with a series of sexual battery cases in the University Park Area.

In the past 60 days, 16 incidents involving a woman being slapped inappropriately were reported. This offense is known as forcible fondling, which is a crime under the federal Clery Act.

A parody video was posted on YouTube making fun of the crime. Some students disagreed with the humor and said this type of crime disrespected women and should be taken seriously.

DPS says it's making progress in the investigation and encourages victims of sexual assault to come forward with information. DPS urges students to not walk home at night and utilize USC's campus cruiser.
