USC Football Starts Spring Sessions

The Trojans take to the practice field for first time this season.

The USC football team began its spring practices Tuesday with the team taking to Cromwell Field in its first official sessions of the offseason. During the practice, the Trojans featured a squad full of new faces, with early enrollees including receiver Issac Whitney and quarterback Ricky Town making their first appearances.

Redshirt junior quarterback Cody Kessler, who is listed on several preseason Heisman watch lists heading into his fifth and final season, discussed his emotions of joy being back on the field with his team. Kessler also mentioned that the team is not focusing on the national attention that both the Bakersfield, California native and the Trojans as a whole are receiving.

Noticably missing from the practice field was tight end Bryce Dixon, who missed practice because of a violation of team policy, according to head coach Steve Sarkisian.
