Governor Brown Orders Historic Mandate On Water Restrictions
California Gov. Jerry Brown imposed a mandatory state-wide water restriction Wednesday, in an effort to tackle the state's serious drought.
"We're in a historic drought and that demands unprecedented action," he said at a news conference at the Echo Summit in the Sierra Nevada.
Brown's mandate will inevitably affect everyone in the state, but will specifically require campuses, golf courses, cemeteries and other large landscapes to drastically cut their water use.
