Sports SCene: Episode 11

We're getting that tingling playoff feeling over here at Sports SCene. No, not because of the NHL or NBA postseasons. USC's spring sports begin to enter the postseason this weekend, and we've got an episode brimming with breakdowns on a boatload of non-revenue sports.

USC Women's Tennis is ranked second in the country as of Wednesday, and will finish the Pac-12 season undefeated if they can top No. 5 UCLA at Marks Stadium on Thursday. To learn more, we brought in senior Zoe Scandalis to explain why she's ready to leave a champion in her final season in Troy. Scandalis gives us insight into the team's rise through the rankings, previews the crucial tilt against the Bruins, and tells us what to look for as the team readies for the Pac-12 Championships and NCAAs.

But are Scandalis and Co. the Trojan team most likely to bring home a championship this spring? Sports SCene contributors Jacob Freedman and Paolo Uggetti debate on this week's edition of Trojan Hoarse.

Reid Silverman also brings you up to speed on "Lighting The Torch." USC Sand Volleyball begins postseason play at the Pac-12 Invitational this weekend, while we also catch you up with Women's Lacrosse, Men's Volleyball, Men's Tennis and Women's Water Polo. The postseason is just around the corner, so let us keep you in the loop.

Meanwhile, another sport you might have heard of concluded its spring practice on Saturday with the annual Spring Game. USC Football's offense was on point in front of over 20,000 fans at the Coliseum, and we have highlights and interviews from the madness. Plus, we took a look into the best social media moments from the Spring Game.

USC Baseball had a rough week on the diamond, but we catch you up as the team prepares for a home series against the Oregon Ducks this weekend.

Finally, sports can often be about more than the players. Or the coaches or fans for that matter. We spent a day in the life of a Trojan mascot, our own Tommy Trojan. You can't call yourself a true fan without checking out Tommy's adventures at USC's baseball game last Saturday.
